This week, in our HCJ lecture we focused on economics. Money.
This includes a look at how countries such as Italy and Greece have entered financial crisis, aswell as how economics works, and how the government can try to keep stability and balance.

Totalitarianism

Totalitarianism can be seen as a form of dictatorship. It is a political system which produces complete control over both public and private sectors.

Existentialism

Phenomenology - a branch of philosophy, closest to psychology, and deals with the perpection of things.
Eg- the 'duck rabbit' - object of perception. You my can see both a duck and a rabbit in the picture(but you can only focus on one at a time).

My seminar paper, focussing on the existentialist book 'The Outsider'.

Mathematics in Logic and Language

Natural numbers - words used to count things. To count is to create an abstract category or group.
On average, natural numbers go up to 7.
A number such as 73,962 is abstract and mysterious, impossible to visualise or recognise.
Any complex number can be analysed

Tom Wolfe - The New Journalism

From 60's and 7-'s - astyle of journalism that was considered unconventional.
Mainly found in magazines instead of newspapers/.
It can deal with form and technique.
1972 article by Dennis Chaser identifies it as emphasizing truth over facts.
Mixing journalism with literary techniques.
(most likely inspired by Dickens and Zola)
